TENNIS 4 ALL – Young Adults with disabilities

After successfully obtaining funding from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries for the South Mandurah Tennis Club to hold a new tennis initiative aimed at increasing the fitness and awareness of sport for adults that have a cognitive impairment or disability and wish to be involved in the sport of tennis. The South Mandurah Tennis Club is a very social club and hope to involve participants in the community at the club.

Participants do need to be mobile and able to follow short simple verbal and/ or demonstrated instructions and be accompanied by their carer if required.

There is a small contribution required by participants which we believe gives them ownership of the program and will assist with the continued running.

Participants will be able to participate 1 session per week and each session will run for approx. 45 minutes. South Mandurah Tennis Club’s contribution to the program will enable participants a special 12 month membership which will mean they have access to the courts at other times should they wish to practice what they learn.

Participant numbers are limited in this program; however, we do hope to secure further funding and community engagement to assist with the continuation and expansion of the program.

An expression of interest form is available below.
